Traveling with Psoriasis

April 14, 2017

Be Prepared!  Take it with you!  Keep you body pH balanced throughout your day!

If you don't have fresh lime or lemon juice to add to your drinking water.. use 1/8 tsp of baking soda or a few drops of liquid chlorophyll  to every 8 oz of drinking water.

Make sure you have at least 4 glasses of water throughout your day.

Before you head out the door, tuck a alkaline Himalayan salt shaker in your bag or pocket .

Bring your alkaline food with you!

I make up big pots of soups and freeze individual servings for quick access to a meal on the go.

Make you own super alkaline salad: lettuce, peppers, red onion, radish, celery, avocado with lemon and olive oil dressing.

On the Go Snacks!

Celery sticks with almond butter are a great travel snacks.

Cucumber slices chilled and sprinkled with Himalayan salt

Fresh raw radishes sprinkled with Himalayan Salt

Kale chips

Pre-cooked beetroot cut into slices and chilled

Home made salsa with corn chips

Parsley -  Fresh parsley the best ever breath freshener!!

Keep your skin moisturised!

I  make sure I have a great moisturiser in my bag.  Keeping your skin moisturised is key to keeping your psoriasis at bay.

My local chemist makes me up a potion - a Non-Ionic Cream.  Check with your doctor or medical adviser for a recommendation.  I also use a vitamin D cream; Daivonex.

Even though my plaques are now healed, I know that keeping my skin soft and moist prevents the dry patches from returning.

If you are traveling overseas, take the tiny bottle of liquid chlorophyll with you and add a few drops to your water on the plane. You cannot take fruit (lemons or limes) across borders.  I sometimes travel overseas with a little baking soda in my bag.  I have yet to be taken aside by customs who may question the white powder in my carry-on.

Happy healing.
